The Last Message is a story game played on a fictional phone. The phone, its contacts, messages, photos and calls are all part of the story. The game never reads, uses or uploads your real contacts, messages, photos, camera, microphone, call log or location.
There is no account, no sign-up and no server of ours. We do not receive, read or store anything about you or how you play. The only data that leaves your device is what Google’s advertising SDK (AdMob) needs in order to show ads.
The game writes a small save file to the private storage of your phone. It contains:
There is no cloud sync, no login, no leaderboard and no analytics SDK. Nothing in that file identifies you. If you uninstall the app, it is deleted with it. You can also erase it at any time from Settings > Erase all progress.
The Last Message is free and is paid for by ads served by Google AdMob. To show ads, Google’s SDK may collect and process:
This processing is done by Google as an independent controller. We do not receive this data, and we do not combine it with anything the game stores on your phone. Google’s own privacy policy applies:
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown (Google User Messaging Platform). You can change your choice at any time from Settings > Privacy options. You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID from the Android settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads).
No ad is ever shown during a chapter. Ads appear only in the menus and between chapters. Rewarded videos are always optional and always your choice.
The Last Message asks for the minimum it needs:
INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - to load ads;AD_ID - the advertising identifier used by AdMob;VIBRATE - for the phone’s vibration during the story (can be switched off in Settings). The game does not ask for location, contacts, SMS, call log, microphone, camera or file access, and the whole story works offline.
The Last Message is a psychological horror game and is not directed to children. It is intended for players aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
Because we do not hold any of your data, there is nothing on our side to access, correct or delete: everything is on your phone and under your control (erase your progress in the game, clear the app data, or uninstall the app). For the data processed by Google for advertising, please use Google’s own controls linked above.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the legal basis for the advertising processing is your consent where required, and legitimate interest for non-personalised advertising and for the security of the service.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page is updated. Material changes will also be described in the release notes of the app on Google Play.
