Summary

SpendCheck works offline. Your income, your expenses and your decisions are stored only on your device and are never sent to us. The app is free and is supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob, which needs a network connection and may use device identifiers.

What we collect

We collect nothing. SpendCheck has no registration, no account and no login. The developer never receives your income, your expenses, your decisions or any identifier that belongs to you.

What is stored on your device

To work, the app saves the following locally, inside its own private storage:

• income settings: net annual income, working days per year, hours per day, marginal tax rate, hypothetical annual rate, time horizon;
• the purchases you evaluate and the decisions you record (bought, skipped, on hold);
• preferences (language, currency, theme) and your reading progress in the Learn section.

This data never leaves the device. You can erase all of it at any time from Profile - Erase all data, or by uninstalling the app. If you create a backup file with the Export function, that file is produced on your request and stored wherever you choose to save or send it: from that moment it is under your control.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

SpendCheck shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited). To serve ads, Google may collect and process:

• advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID) and other device identifiers;
• approximate location derived from the IP address;
• technical information about the device, the app version and the interaction with the ad (impressions, clicks).

This processing is carried out by Google as an independent controller. Google’s own privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://business.safety.google/adsprocessing/

Consent. On first launch the app shows the Google consent form (UMP, User Messaging Platform). No advertising SDK is initialised and no ad is requested before you answer. If you refuse personalised advertising, the app keeps working in full: only the type of ads changes.

Changing your mind. You can review or withdraw your consent at any time from Profile - Ad privacy settings. The entry appears whenever your region requires it.

Analytics

SpendCheck contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service and no social login. We do not build user profiles and we do not sell data, because we do not collect any.

Permissions

• Internet: required only to load advertising. All calculations work offline.
• Advertising ID (AD_ID): required by Android 13 and later for apps that show ads.
• Notifications (optional): used only to remind you when the waiting period you chose for a purchase (24 hours or 30 days) has elapsed. Reminders are generated on the device. Refusing this permission leaves the rest of the app fully working.
• File sharing (optional): used only when you tap Export, to write the backup file you asked for.

Children

SpendCheck is not directed at children under 13. The app collects no data itself, and advertising is not configured for child directed treatment.

Not financial advice

SpendCheck is an educational tool. It does not provide financial, tax or investment advice and it does not recommend financial products. Projections are simulations based on a hypothetical rate that you choose and they do not represent guaranteed returns. For important decisions, consult a licensed professional.

Your rights

Since we hold no personal data of yours, there is nothing for us to export or delete on our side. For the data that Google processes for advertising, you can exercise your rights through the Google links above, reset your advertising identifier in the Android settings, or withdraw consent from within the app.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated date. Any future version of the app that introduces a new component processing data will be published only after this page and the Play Store Data safety form have been updated.
